Service Project - Making Placemats for Meals on Wheels

About this meeting idea

For our service project, our Daisies made placemats to be included in Meals on Wheels deliveries during the holiday season. First we talked about Meals on Wheels, and how there are people in our community that need helping getting food to eat. We watched a youtube video so the girls could understand who they are helping. Girls earned their Make the World a Better Place Petal. Next we set up three different craft stations, and each girl made as many as she could at each station to maximize the holiday love. "Placemats" needed to be 8x8 so they can fit inside the delivery boxes. Station 1: Glue on Tissue paper squares and Snowmen cut outs Station 2: Water Colors with white crayons Station 3: Glue on strips of paper to look like trees The moms set up a station to laminate the placemats with contact paper. My co-leader did hand deliver these to Meals on Wheels at their location in Midtown.
