Ranger Jen is part of Milton Parks and Recreation, and she taught our girls to fish at Providence Park. She start with a talk about the park, the types of fish we'd find, and a tutorial of how to use the fishing rods. Then we went on a short hike down a paved path to the dock at Providence park to fish (we used corn and wonder bread as bait). The girls enjoyed it! Girl Scouts had sent me a word searches in one of our boxes, so we did that as a time-killer activity while waiting for everyone to arrive.
Supplies Needed
Wonder Bread and canned corn to use as bait
Tell the kids to bring water and wear a hat and sunscreen

I think Girls needed to be 8 years old to do this activity. We usually do our meetings Sundays, but Jen needed us to do this on a Saturday afternoon instead.
